Kashmiri journalist Yana Mir: Kashmiri female journalist Yana Mir has lambasted Pakistan in the British Parliament. He says that he is not Pakistani activist Malala Yousafzai. Therefore he should not be compared with Malala. He is completely safe in his country (India). Mir says that Kashmir has always been an integral part of India and will remain so in future also. Yana Mir was invited to participate in the ‘Resolution Day’ organized by the UK Parliament. Here he was awarded the Diversity Ambassador Award for promoting diversity efforts in Jammu and Kashmir. I am not Malala Yousafzai
Everyone appreciated Mir’s speech in the special program. He said during the speech, ‘I am not Malala Yousafzai. I feel free and safe in India. I am safe in my motherland Kashmir, which is an integral part of India. I will never need to leave my country and seek refuge in another country.
Mir further said, ‘I will never become Malala Yousafzai. If someone tries to defame my motherland by calling it oppressed, I feel sad about it. I have an objection to people who have never tried to visit Kashmir and tell wild stories without knowing it.
I request everyone to stop dividing our country in the name of religion. We do not want to allow this to anyone. Stop spreading propaganda. I hope those anti-India people living in Pakistan and Britain will stop defaming India on international human rights forums.
